The Costa del Sol is often referred to as the Costa del Golf, its not surprising with a concentrations of top quality golf courses nearing the 40's and fabulous weather almost all year round. The demand is so great that many new courses are being developed and in the more popular courses rounds need to be booked months in advance.
A little inland from Puerto Banus and Nueva Andalucia is the area known as "Golf Valley", with world class courses designed by the likes of Robert Trent Jones and Seve Ballesteros the area, not surprisingly, is home to many luxury property developments, including some fine frontline properties on the courses.

A recent study estimated that a staggering 80% of golfing tourists had visited the Costa to play. Many golf courses have club tournaments running throughout the year, so phone to check first and booking in advance is advised. Golf has played a great part in turning the Costa del Sol from a summer holiday destination to a year round resort, with many northern Europeans escaping bleak winters to come to the Costa's mild winter climate to play golf.

Masses of trees, broad sweeping fairways, back nine holes has extensive orange groves from where the name comes from. There is a fantastic club house which is very welcoming surrounded by orange groves.
Los Naranjos is located behind Nueva Andalucía west of Marbella in the Golf Valley at the Costa del Sol. Take the first exit road after you passed Puerto Banus and the Andalucia Plaza Casino in the direction of San Pedro de Alcántara. Take the 2nd exit from the roundabout and follow the signposts. Then take the 3rd exit from the next roundabout after 1.2 km. Los Naranjos Golf is situated right at the next roundabout.

Location/Description
Rio Real Golf is situated east outside Marbella. Take the exit road at Km. 185 from the N340 and follow the signposts Rio Real Golf Hotel. The golf course is situtated approximately 1.2 km ahead.

Created by Enrique Canales perfectionist so took a long time to open course is set in a private 360 acre estate which offers breathtaking panoramic views towards the mountains and sea. Moderately difficult suits all players. This course is situated next to the main road. It is a mostly flat course with a steep climb on the 8th leading to the 9th hole.

This course offers distracting views over the mediterranean. The par 3 6th hole is located on the highest point of the course and is very challenging. Set in a valley with views of the mountains and the Mediterranean suits golfers of all standards, More and more popular natural hazards provides a challenge. Interesting layout with elevated trees lush fairways and terrain with well placed bunkers. Buggies recommended.

Popular course with large bunkers protecting the large greens. There are several water hazards through out the sweeping fairways. The Rough is quite difficult. Starts off fairly hilly then flattens out into flat terrain. Sweeping fairways,abundant bunkers and large greens.Serveral holes require accurate tee shots to get across ravines and gullys. Views from the 12th hole are breath taking, looking over the med.
Par 72 18 hole course. 5953 Meters.
